One of the benefits of Virtual Reality is that a user can be immersed in any kind of environment, and experience a number of different circumstances as if they were actually happening. This is why Virtual Reality is the perfect training to tool for Health and Safety inspections.
Virtual Reality Training is risk-free, but because of how realistically it influences a user’s senses it gives life-like experience. This means that Health and Safety Executives can learn how to manage dangerous situations without their lives being put in danger to gain the experience they need.
For example, a fire can be simulated through a Virtual Reality experience and without the risk of getting burned or inhaling smoke, the trainee can experiment with the different tools required to put out the fire. Other dangers to consider such as electrical cables being present, or needed to evacuate people can also be simulated to ensure the trainee is fully equipped for real life situations.
HSE Training is broad and needs to cover a few areas. The type of training covered is dependent on the industry as well as the country in which the company is operating – due to different laws in place for Health and Safety requirements.
Below is an example of the kind of Virtual Reality training that can be done for the mining industry. You will note that the training is customized to the industry and the company.
